Walthamstow Wetland Wins Civic Trust Award 2019

The outstanding Walthamstow Wetlands project that Rooff completed in 2018 has been awarded a Civic Trust Award.

The team for this project which included Witherford Watson Mann Architects, Kinnear Landscape Architects, P3R Engineers, Tall and Cinns Ltd all worked together to bring the vision of this urban wetland nature reserve to life and the results are breath taking.

Rooff completed a full refurbishment of the Marine Engine Pump House which now includes a visitor centre, café and viewing platform. We also carried out conservation work to the Copper Mill Tower and extensive external works. A swift tower within the reconstructed 24m tall tapered brickwork chimney was constructed with specially installed swift nest boxes to attract urban swifts.
