MARK HORN
GROUP CHAIRMAN
MSc Construction Refurbishment Management, B.Eng Civil Engineering
After training as a Civil Engineer, Mark worked for a major contractor focusing on large new build office projects in the City of London. He further developed his technical knowledge, working as a structural engineer, both in London and in the Czech Republic. Since joining Rooff in 1994, Mark worked as a site-based project manager, progressing to Managing Director, serving in this role for almost 25 years. His broad experience in construction and real enthusiasm for buildings, both new and old, helps forge the direction of Rooff.
In February 2026, Mark become our Group Chairman, providing strategic leadership to the board and wider company. Within his role he safeguards long‑term vision, promotes accountability, and supports our Managing Director in delivering the organisation’s strategic goals.
GAN HIRANI
MANAGING DIRECTOR
BSc Hons Construction and Surveying, MBA Construction & Real Estate
Gan joined Rooff in 2003 as a Trainee Surveyor, progressing to Senior Quantity Surveyor where he developed a strong commercial sense and an ability to manage construction finances with skill, professionalism and fairness. He has an understanding of construction technology, design and detailing. In December 2019, Gan joined the Board as Operations Director where he worked closely with all the Directors and managed the operations of all on our projects.
He became Managing Director in February 2026 and remains actively included in every project. It is this detailed involvement of our top level staff that sets us apart from our competitors, enabling us to deliver complex construction projects to the very highest levels of quality and efficiency. Gan will have ultimate responsibility for every project and will be available for strategic input and client relationship management, forming part of the core group that oversees each project.
RON NICHOLLS
DIRECTOR, PURCHASING & COMPLIANCE
After starting his career in local authority, Ron then worked for a major building and civil engineering contractor in Essex. He was entirely responsible for all procurement carried out in the south east region. Ron joined Rooff in 1989 as a Senior Subcontract Buyer, specifically to be involved in their larger design and build projects. Ron progressed to the position of Chief Buyer, Purchasing Director and now oversees project compliance. Ron’s considerable experience in procurement processes and knowledge of subcontracts is an important part of our business, as procuring the right subcontractors for the varied types of work we carry out is vital. He is actively involved in all of our projects from the initial tender submission to the receipt of making goods defects certificate. Ron also has the responsibility of overseeing ISO 9001:2015 Quality, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental and OHSAS ISO 45001:2018 Health and Safety accreditation’s.
TOM KYPRIANOU
COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR
BSc Hons Quantity Surveying
Tom joined Rooff in 2014 on a summer work placement whilst studying for his Quantity Surveying degree at Anglia Ruskin University. He returned for a second placement in 2015 before graduating with a 1st class Honours Degree in 2016. Tom then joined the company permanently, as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and has since been promoted to Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor and Chief Surveyor before becoming our Commercial Director in January 2026. Tom has managed many complex financial projects during his years at Rooff, notably the recently completed £20M Brentwood School Boarding House. This was a two stage design and build scheme in which Tom was continuously involved, from 1st stage tender to actual delivery and completion.
Tom brings a high level of technical, personal ability and enthusiasm to the role and is a great asset to both ourselves and the client, maintaining budgetary control throughout the contract. Additionally, Tom oversees the running of the commercial surveying department which includes training and development of junior staff as part of their career development plans.
STEVE DRURY
DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
MBA (Construction & Real Estate), FCIOB, AssocRICS
Steve manages two important sides of the firm, new business, through tendering and partnership opportunities and property development and investment.
Steve began a management apprenticeship with Rooff in 1985 and subsequently worked within Quantity Surveying, Contracts Management and Project Management, becoming a Director in 2005. With a keen interest in progressive training and professional career development, Steve also manages the firm`s management training programme and recently completed an MBA in Construction & Real Estate from The College of Estate Management via the OU and became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building in November 2013.
With the organisations relocation to Barking, Steve has become active with local social and business issues, through his involvement with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham’s Skills, Jobs and Enterprise Board and Borough inward investment initiatives. Steve remains actively involved in careers and skills advice for young people and stimulates appointments for local supply chains.
TONY PEARCE
DIRECTOR
BSc Hons Building (Engineering and Management)
Tony joined Rooff in 1985 as a Site Manager after having completed a sandwich course at Brunel University. Tony has an in-depth industry knowledge which stems from his inquisitive nature. His broad experience in construction enables him to truly guide his project teams by advising on technical queries. Further to this, Tony becomes involved at an early stage to assist and simplify designs whilst, meeting the clients aspiration and architects intent.
Tony is responsible for overseeing construction teams, pushing them forward to achieve the highest level of workmanship. Tony ensures his staff have the right training and health and safety guidance. He also oversees the projects to ensure programme and budgets are maintained. Over the years Tony has worked on a whole range of different schemes, having helped many clients achieve amazing results from severely challenging projects.
ED BARTLETT
CONSTRUCTION DIRECTOR

Ed joined Rooff in February 2026 after working for a similar size organisation for over 15 years. Ed began as a Site Manager, progressing to Contracts and Project Manager before becoming a Director at his previous firm. Alongside Tony, Ed now oversees projects as Construction Director and works in collaboration with our site teams and the client project team to ensure smooth delivery of all of his projects. Ed’s experience covers many construction sectors including residential schemes and education projects, both in terms of new build and refurbishment work.
Ed provides valuable support with regard to technical issues and specialist subcontractor co-ordination. Clients have full access to Ed throughout every project and can rely on his expertise to assist with any technical or emergency situation. Ed is able to advise on all aspects of construction management and assist each member of the project team.
THOMAS EKERS
FINANCIAL DIRECTOR & COMPANY SECRETARY
FCCA, MAAT
Tom joined us in the spring of 2020 as Financial Director and Company Secretary. Tom is responsible for HR and IT as well as managing Company Finances.
He trained with Grant Thornton as an Audit Manager and in Forensic Investigation, and subsequently held a number of roles as Finance Director in tech industries.
