We were delighted to attend Our Newham Work Meet the Trainer Event and Careers Fair held in Stratford. It was great to have Rooffs Development Director – Steve Drury on board, providing high level careers advice and guidance gained from 37 years of industry experience. Steve really enjoyed the conversations with aspiring potential entrants to the industry including many international students from UEL and was particularly impressed with the high level of talented international students looking to work in the UK construction sector. With the continued predicted skills shortage as highlighted by the latest CITB and wider research data, the inward attraction of international talent, alongside training of our own, remains a vital strategy for the future success of the industry.
