DESCRIPTION

Rooff were appointed various phases at the Hammersmith Apollo Theatre, now known as Eventim Apollo Theatre. The Grade II* Listed, Robert Cromie designed, Art Deco theatre originally opened in 1932. It is now one of the UK’s largest original theatres and major live entertainment venue and a very exciting project to be involved with.

The works included refurbishment of all public toilets, a new boiler capacity and ventilation system in numerous areas and a new concourse and bollards at the front of the building.

The theatre is located in a challenging busy area, surrounded by residential roads, offices and is adjacent to the Hammersmith Flyover.  We were able to progress with the works with successful logistical planning around the access and egress to the works.

As the theatre remained fully operational throughout the refurbishment works, we were unable to have a materials storage facility within the theatre and considered careful project programming and management to ensure materials arrive in a ‘just in time’ fashion.

We liaised with the theatre to ensure they are able to remain open and accommodate guests to the events taking place.
