We hosted a Topping Out Ceremony, at our Church Grove project in Ladywell, Lewisham, which is a community led housing project for the Rural Urban Synthesis Society (RUSS). The ceremony celebrated reaching the highest structural point of the building. To mark the occasion a Yew Tree branch was placed at the top of the new structure, following a building ritual which dates back to an ancient Scandinavian tradition.
The event was attended by Deputy Mayor of Lewisham, Cllr. Brenda Dacres and Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development, Tom Copley, along with future residents. It was great to see everyone come together and to reach this milestone. We look forward to the successful delivery of these 33 new affordable flats for local people.
