National Apprenticeship Week 2020
As part of National Apprenticeship Week we’re excited to share the news with you about a new apprentice within the Rooff Training Academy.
The Rooff Training Academy currently has 12 apprentices, nearly 15% of the Rooff employee workforce, all of which are studying for either a degree or BTEC Level 3 or 4, on a number of different courses.
Quantity Surveying Apprentice – Suraj
We first met Suraj as part of a student site visit to our recently completed Napier Court housing project in Goodmayes, Redbridge for Newlon. We had already established a close relationship with Suraj`s nearby school, Oaks Park High School, where he was studying a BTEC in Construction.
Following on from the site visit Suraj approached us for some work experience and we set up a visiting internship within our estimating and quantity surveying departments.
After completion of his A-levels and BTEC course, Suraj joined Rooff permanently in September 2019 on a Degree Apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying (RICS), studying at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford.
‘I enjoy the course I am studying because I can see how it ties in with my job roles and responsibilities at work, therefore making it easier to learn at both work and university.’
We wish Surj all the best for the future and look forward to him continuing his training and career development as part of the Rooff Training Academy.
