Church Grove
Ladywell, SE13
DESCRIPTION
Church Grove is a current project for the community-led housing group, Rural Urban Synthesis Society (RUSS). This scheme is currently the largest development of its kind in London. Once completed the scheme will provide 33 affordable flats for local people. Rooff are working closely with RUSS and the self-builders on this job to make the final result of a high standard.
Rooff helped developed the design of this project before starting construction in Autumn 2021. The scheme involves a number of self-builders and self-completers to finish off works once Rooff have completed the shell of the majority of the units, some of these units will be fully completed by Rooff.
This scheme has involved close working with RUSS, local residents, self-builders, self-completers and future residents. Rooff, alongside the self-build management team, have supported the self-builders in providing site safety and construction skills training to carry out works in a safe and correct manner. Rooff have also offered the self-builders the opportunity to visit Rooff’s plant yard to look through unused/spare materials and make use of them where possible in their builds.
