DESCRIPTION
This project features the construction of a new build salt store depot comprising a vehicle maintenance workshop, covered store and office mess. The work also included major civil infrastructure to the raised PCC storage bank, salt storage bins and extensive soft landscaping.
The scheme has been awarded a BREEAM “Excellent” rating which we are proud to have accomplished this objective with the project team and the London Borough of Havering.
A sewer diversion was also required and the works were being carried out immediately adjacent to a river. Environmental protection measures were therefore of paramount importance on the project. Building construction and environmental features; piled foundations, steel frame, metal deck roofs with green roof coverings, fair faced block-work internally with cedar cladding externally, Extensive external works comprising cut and fill, hard standings and drainage provisions.
The building services design incorporates a ground source heat pump system and photovoltaic panels as part of the onsite renewable energy provision.
