Henley Gate Visitor Centre
Ipswich, IP1
DESCRIPTION
Rooff have recently completed building an exciting new country park visitor centre for Crest Nicholson, at their Henley Gate development in Ipswich. The building provides a high quality café and community space facility with extensive playgrounds and parking.
The last photo shows the finished construction of the off-site manufactured laminated timber frame structure. A local Suffolk timber frame company was especially selected for the frame installation and to carry out the external larch cladding to the whole of the building.
The new structure is 30m x 17m overall, and consists of a café area, community space, kitchen facilities as well as a welcome and reception area. To accompany the visitor centre within the new country park, Rooff worked on the installation of a large play area, which provides a wide range of outdoor play equipment, which and no doubt be very popular amongst the local community. The circa £3.3M scheme also included extensive landscaping around the visitor centre to facilitate the high projected footfall, with the further addition of a significant parking provision.
