On Tuesday Rooff staff and guests from 6a Architects and Sergison Bates Architects went to The Lime Centre in Hampshire to take part in a “working with lime” day long workshop. The centre has been running since the late 1980s both as a training centre and supplier of lime products. They continue to do this today, sharing their expertise and knowledge on working with lime in historic buildings and help advise on the range of natural lime products available.
The session involved instruction around the history and science of working with natural lime from the owner Nigel Wright, with the opportunity to take part in hands-on trials. It was a great day, and everyone took away a range of new knowledge and insights around the specification and application of natural lime in buildings, both historic and new.
